There are only a handful of registered blue roan 𝐏𝐔𝐑𝐄 Percheron geldings in the country, and this handsome fella is one of them. Not only is he 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐝, 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 - he is the 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 we’ve owned to date. Known to us as “Alder” this 2023 model already stands an impressive 16.2h and will continue to fill out, becoming increasingly more dazzling. This special gelding has been a part of our herd for a year and we have started him slowly and correctly. From groundwork to his first saddling and throughout his training, he has been nothing short of a 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧. Alder has a solid W/T/L foundation, an excellent stop off the seat and “woah” and a good back. He is already soft in the bridle and moves nicely off the leg. Alder is also trained to drive as part of a two horse team. He is an 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 and has the temperament and athleticism to go any direction your heart desires. Alder is responsive without being sensitive. He has a great mind, learns quickly and is well balanced. He goes anywhere you point him and does anything you ask of him with a 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭. Alder has 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬. He picks up all four feet with ease and stands quietly for the farrier, no stocks needed. He is easy to catch and lovely in a herd setting, always calm and kind to others. He loads and unloads from the trailer with no issue. He is an easy keeper and requires no maintenance.
