This classy 8-year-old palomino gelding stands 14.3 hands and is one of those horses that makes riding feel easy. He is gentle, sweet, kind and patient, with the training and handle to be fun for an experienced rider while still being safe and uncomplicated for someone who simply wants to enjoy their horse. Benedict is the kind of horse someone can truly learn on. He is super safe, incredibly patient with new riders and has had a lot of beginners on him. He takes care of his rider, gives them time to figure things out and will absolutely babysit someone who needs a horse they can trust. He is family-horse deluxe—the kind you can feel comfortable putting different levels of riders on and know he is going to take care of them. Benedict is BROKE. He rides soft and collected, has a comfortable jog and an easy lope, picks up his leads, moves off your leg, neck reins and backs willingly. Ask him to turn around and he’ll spin nicely, and when you sit down and ask him to stop, he’ll slide. He has plenty of training when you want to use it, but you certainly don’t have to be a trainer to ride him. What really makes Benedict special is his mind. He is forgiving, quiet and willing. He isn’t looking for something to worry about and doesn’t need to be micromanaged every step of the way. He’s the kind you can saddle up, get on and go enjoy. We’ve put him through all the things—tarps, flags, bridges, pool noodles, tires and obstacles—and Benedict takes them in stride. H
