She is a substantial, sturdy mare with a sweet, willing nature and the versatility to fit a variety of programs. Jelly Beans was raised and started by the Amish and has experience working on the farm, including plowing. She has a solid foundation and the mindset that comes from having been handled and worked from a young age. With her background and build, she could easily transition back into a driving program, farm or ranch lifestyle, or continue developing under saddle. She has excellent basic ground manners and is easy to work with. Jelly catches easily, leads, loads, ties, stands quietly for the farrier, and stands well for bathing, grooming, and tacking. She is comfortable being handled and has a practical, sensible foundation. Under saddle, Jelly Beans walks, trots, lopes/canters, and backs. She has been ridden on trails, through water, and in town, giving her valuable exposure to a variety of environments. For the past six months, she has been in a professional hunter/jumper program, where she has been introduced to English riding and started over fences with natural form. We have been very impressed with her progress during these six months. She is still a developing project, but she has shown us that she has the potential to become a lovely little hunter for someone who enjoys bringing along a young horse and developing her into her full potential.
