Aberdeen-Angus — beli atau jual
History of the breed. The Aberdeen-Angus breed is a beef breed developed in Scotland in the 19th century. The ancestors of Aberdeen-Angus cattle are representatives of the British aboriginal cattle of the Galloway and Highland breeds. The forebears of Aberdeen-Angus were the main working cattle in the regions of Aberdeen and Angus in Scotland, and these once polled animals grazed on the lush floodplain pastures of coastal towns. The herd also included horned individuals, and bulls and heifers were often of mixed colors. Through the crossing of Galloway cattle with Highlands at the end of the 19th century, the Aberdeen-Angus breed emerged. Scottish breeders continuously improved the breed, working on enhancing its exterior and precocity, as well as increasing meat quality and slaughter weight. Almost 100 years later, a new pedigree cattle was developed, and in 1873, Aberdeen-Angus cattle began to be exported to North America. The breed spread to various corners of the planet. The Aberdeen-Angus breed is the black pearl of beef cattle breeding; animals of this breed are very strong, stately, and hold special value among breeders. The Aberdeen-Angus breed is a breeding elite and also an exemplary representative of beef cattle. Exterior. Aberdeen-Angus cattle have a black coat, but the breed standard also accepts a red color. The average weight of bulls ranges from 800 kg to 1000 kg, while cows weigh between 550 kg and 750 kg. The body structure is compact, powerful, and muscular, with thin elastic skin that further emphasizes the relief of the body. The head is not large but heavy, with a slightly protruding forehead, creating an impression of a frowning look. The neck is short, visually merging the head with the shoulders; the legs are of short length, straight, and correctly positioned. The back is straight, with a height at the withers of 116-118 cm. A distinctive feature of Aberdeen-Angus cattle is their innate polledness, with both bulls and cows being hornless. Conditions of keeping. Aberdeen-Angus cattle are very resilient animals that tolerate heat and cold well; the cattle are adapted to temperatures ranging from -40 to +40 degrees. A natural forage base on pastures is the best option for Aberdeen-Angus, and they can be kept on free-range all year round, but it is important to provide the animals with sufficient water, and it is also desirable for the cattle to have a place to shelter from the sun. In the absence of natural shade, it is better to construct a canopy; regarding keeping in barns, due to their resistance to low temperatures, additional insulation of the premises is not required.
